As a cellist, Jacco knows resonance first as a physical and relational experience: string, instrument, room, player and listener responding together.
About Jacco Viljoen
Jacco is a cellist, systems thinker, marketer and lifelong explorer of the relationship between inner life and practical life. Resonance Wellness is where those strands are beginning to form one coherent body of work.
The person behind the work
The cello taught Jacco that listening is active. A player attends to pitch and rhythm, but also to the living response between bow, string, wood, body and space. That experience became an enduring way of understanding people and ideas.
His working life developed another kind of attentiveness: to systems, evidence, communication and practical consequences. Alongside it has run a sustained exploration of psychology, spirituality, consciousness and the practices that help a person live with greater awareness.
Resonance Wellness does not ask those worlds to compete. It is an attempt to let analytical intelligence, embodied experience, creativity and reflective inquiry inform one another.
Four continuing threads
These are not credentials assembled for effect. They are the recurring disciplines through which Jacco has learned.
As a cellist, Jacco knows resonance first as a physical and relational experience: string, instrument, room, player and listener responding together.
His professional life in technology, financial work and marketing has trained him to recognise patterns, organise complexity and translate ideas into useful action.
Meditation, breath, shadow work, philosophy, spirituality and consciousness research have formed a long, non-dogmatic search for meaning.
The value of an insight is tested in how it is lived: in work, relationship, service, judgement and the consequences of one’s choices.
A story still being written
Jacco’s relationship with the I Ching stretches back to 2001 and has changed considerably over time: from reliance on its answers towards a more measured practice of reflection, discernment and personal responsibility.
